Along the French Riviera

Les prairies de la mer is one of the most popular campsite/holiday villages on the cote d'azur. Situated on a long palm lined sandy beach overlooking St Tropez we are open from easter until mid October. We are only 5 minute walk from Port Grimaud known as little venice, started in the 1960s by architect Francois Spoerry Port Grimaud has become one of the most visited sites in France.

With its ideal, setting of canals and walkways and its twice weekly market, and a good selection of restaurants to suit all tastes. There are also numerous shops selling everything from designer clothes to locally produced products.

Staying on the coast we are 6km from St. Tropez the town made famous by Bridgett Bardot who still appears from time to time on the local market. A great place for people watching and trying to spot the rich and famous. But there is also the historic side and the citadel is worth a visit and there are a number of small museums.
Situated at the opposite side of the bay we have Ste Maxime a lively little town with its wonderful selection of restaurants.
The sea front cafes and bars providing a selection of music catering for all tastes, there is also in high season an evening street market which is well worth a visit.
Leaving the coast and set in the hills behind the campsite is the charming village of old grimaud steeped in history and a very peaceful atmosphere with its narrow streets and its renovated 11th century chateau from which you can look over the whole bay of St Tropez. You can either go by car or there is a little train which leaves from the campsite
Also set in the hills are the villages of Gassin and Ramatuelle both well worth a visit.
